Unit Study: "Animals on the Farm"

In this “Animals on the Farm” Unit Study, you’ll be able to introduce your student to the basics about 6 different animals:

Animals on the Farm. Unit Study. Connect Learning Studio
  1. Chickens

  2. Cows

  3. Honey Bees

  4. Horses

  5. Sheep

  6. Pigs

Each animal has copywork suggestions to choose from, at least 5 curated Youtube videos, and an assortment of crafts and activities to enjoy. Also included, are some suggested paid resources (like worksheets) that might be useful for your student.

**Note about YouTube videos: finding quality content online takes a ton of TIME and can often lead to other unintended viewing. The videos (unless otherwise noted) are embeded into the unit study webpages to curb this issue (just press play!). The videos that I curate for unit studies will never have any foul language in it, and for sensitive topics (such as raw meat processing, evolution or creation theories mentioned, etc), I do my best to make a note by the video title. As with ALL content, I recommend you evaluate your student’s readiness or applicability toward their studies. You know them best!)

These Farm and Food Anatomy Books by Julia Rothman are useful across multiple studies!

In addition to the various specific resource suggestions, there is a list of books for the different animals, as well as few books that just have general “Animal on the Farm” inspiration.

Two of these general resource books (all the applicable pages for the animals in this unit are referenced in the unit study intro) are the Food Anatomy and Farm Anatomy Books by Julia Rothman
*These are beautifully illustrated and contain lots of information! *theory of evolution is referenced
