How to Make An Easy Full Sized Paper Booklet
This is a tutorial for a basic booklet that you can make with full sized (Letter 8.5x11in) papers.
What I love about these booklets is that they are SO customizable!
You can use them for science projects, unit studies, writing and illustrating creative stories, book reports, and more!
Basic Supplies You’ll Need:
12x18in Paper for the Booklet Cover
{12x18in cover paper is most easily found as construction paper, but you can also get a “multi-media” type paper that is excellent for watercolor pencils or even liquid watercolors - if done lightly}
8.5x11in Paper (notebook, copy paper, scrapbook paper, etc)
{the versatility of these booklets is that you can PRINT out worksheets from online or make them with completely blank pages… or have a mixture of both printed and blank!}
Extra Long Stapler (& staples)
{The extra long stapler really makes the difference for using full size papers because, as i’m sure every crafty kid learns, a regular stapler just won’t reach across the full page. This stapler uses regular staples and just note that the “jaws” of it don’t open up the full way like normal sized stapler do (for stapling on walls and such.}
How to Make An Easy, Full Sized Paper Booklet
1) Fold your 12x18in paper “hamburger-style”
(versus “hot dog style” where it’s very long and skinny)
2) Open the folded cover, and lay your 8.5x11in sheets on the bottom side of the cover
3) Staple (3-5 staples) the 8.25x11in papers to the back cover page
(don’t get them too close to the edge, otherwise the papers will wiggle around on the staple and not be sturdy)
4) Prepare your pages for turning by folding each page along the line of staples
5) Now your booklet is ready to use!
You can illustrate all sides of the cover pages, draw on your inside pages, or complete your worksheets that are all organized and ready to share and read whenever you want!
